Sir,you are absoutely correct.Though Im a Sri Lankan Sinhalese,I dont care about the races in my interest to the cinema, because I like to watch tamil movies too.So why those people in Tamil Nadu who are protesting cant think that we too like to meet or see their Kollywood actors and actresses? Some people dont know that we born to the world in same way and the apperance of all humans in the world is the same. After birth, the society like to name the new born one as Tamil,Hindu,Muslim or Sinhala according to the family background.Other than we all are same human beings which made frome flesh and blood.Think for a moment if there is a nice song in the tamil movi or hindhi movie with anice melody,we all like to listen for that without considering any problems in races. So why we hide our true natural qualities in our human body? Some shows false appearence and try to divide the world in to various categories and making ueseless conflicts between the people, because they dont think that they born and die in same manner.I will tell you some thing,if you are born to the Tamil parents in this birth and what happended if you born to a Sinhala parents in your next birth? So can you protesting against the useless concept of ethnicity?I think ethnicity is only usefultocensus, but it would not be a cause to make dangerous conflict between the same humanbeings in the world. If you see there are many conflicts between the Hindu people and Muslim people, but the biggest star in the North India is the Shrukh Khan.So why they are not labelling him as a non-Hindu,because they love his acting without considering his race or religion. So asSinhala one I too like the acting of Surya,Asin and Jeyam Ravi than the Hindi film stars, without considering any problems in races. So why we only feel like this, because it is useless to fight for the false, foolish and useless differnces made by the society among the same type of human beings on the Earth. The nature give the good lesson for the people on the Earth by making various catastrophes, because we all know the people in various races will die from a natrual disasters on the same place. So why the nature doesnt consider the races when they make disasters. This is the reality which most of the people dont believe on this Earth.
Some people have big power to attract the other people, such as the famous terrorists in the world. So they use their power to induce other to make unnessary conflicts among them.So the foolish people who are induced to make conflicts will help those type people to fullfill their targets or the dreams. But why people cant understand those type people have inner secrects inside.because they like get the power and have a ego to outshine them selves as the most famous leaders in the world.Think about the most of the politicians, they spent their money and time during the elections to win because they like to get power,But we all know after winning he treat his people greatly but not considering the other people. So cant they use their special power of talent to make the world nice without making useless ethnic conflicts?
Jeyaraj sir,Im only twenty two year girl but have a plan to do my masters in India and like to learn Indian music after my degree because I like so much to sing Indian songs, but unfortunaley we will be the victims under theunnessary ethnic crisis,so we have to fight for fullfilling our dreams. But sometimes I think why this world is so cruel, may this is a foolish wish, but I like to wish the end of the world in future by the nature and begin new human beings who dosent have any knowledge to make racism any more further. Then the world will be nice and new gneration of human beings can live happily and peacefully with others on the Earth and full fill their nice targets without any hindrance and can die happily. That is what I want.Best of of luck you sir in all what you do.Because you are a good human on this Earth.

DBSJ RESPONDS:

Thank you very much duwa. You make me so happy with your views. I hope you can realise your dream and study in India. Maybe you could think of going North perhaps to Kolkata or New Delhi

Response #244

Ravi-Gee

Thanks for your advice, which was given under above comment, and am happy to note that I have induced a person in your calibre to contribute first time to this forum.

Acknowledge you categorising my writing as ranting, raving and wailing communications, however I have not offended, as I have my own reasons for writing the way I did. I was not writing to all Medical doctors of Tamil, Sinhala Diaspora, but for a target group highlighting their failure to help the very people they claimed their association formed to help for, at a time of the need. For this kind of people (LTTE supporters but claimed that they help only for Tamils back home affected by the war) whose tacit actions led our people to destruction and misery, one has to use a language that they deserve and can understand. The point I wanted to drive home was, this group of professionals, and I too hold their profession up high because they save lives, alleviate pain, ache, etc. have articulated people to contribute fund to its association, should not think that people do not take notice of what they have or have not done when it comes to caring for the IDP. Having said, I realised now, I was a bit got carried away after reading the comment made by a doctor. His comment for me akin one of the proverbs in Tamil goes like....”a dog guarding hay does not either eats by itself or allows the other".

As you rightly pointed out, for us it is pain, not news with due respect for you - having met some of these victims and seen their plight first hand, it is only spontaneous that passion and emotion at times take over the courtesy and norm that should have otherwise been observed when discussing touchy issues that are so closest to you.

Hope you are reasonably happy with my reasoning and would see some very polite and civilised comments in future for issues of common interest. End

“Tamils are intelligent”

Is that why they supported Prabhakaran and his pipe dream that left so many people dead?
------------------------------------------------------
1.How many votes did Prabhaharan get from the tamils?

2. What took the GOSL so long to finish him off? 25 years infact. Was it the businessses run by Army top brass and commisions earned from military purchases. If no prabha , then no side businesses and no commissions no?

So before talking of tamils supporting Prabha answer those 2 questions. Now no prabha and so no tamils to support him no? What the rajapakshes did, why did JR, Premedasa, Chandrika not do?

So the question is who really supported prabha. Sinhalese or tamils?

I think, actually, this would have happened behind the scene:

Shiranthi might have asked Asin to accompany with her. For her it was an image building exercise. At the same time, it was a great chance for Mahinda. He used Asin to make the oppositions of pro-LTTE politicians in Tamil Nadu to zero-effect. Asin might have paid for this. Look at her face. Someone directed her. She did not do anything her own. Shiranthi may want popularity to enter the politics (or Mahinda & Bros).

All these are pure politics. Tamils are intelligent. They know what is going on behind these dramas.

If five medical doctors brought down from India can do this, how many doctors, we, Tamil Diaspora have? I think an honest patriotic Tamil doctor who did read this article asking himself/herself should not 1 be there
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Sir.Aiya

From your name, I assume you are an elderly senior citizen from SL living somewhere in the world. I am from Tamil Nadu living somewhere in India.

Kindly do not mistake me that I am interfering in your communication. I understand in this blog-world there is abundant freedom (and space) available to express our feelings - within boundaries of parliamentary language I am a new comer to this blog though I have been visiting here for the past few months. One of the fundamental unwritten rules I framed for myself when I started to post my comments was NOT to have unnecessary criss-crossing mails addressing to each other – unless it is of clarificatory in nature. I am aware this is a public forum of DBSJ and not mine. (This is my style. Others do have a right to differ)

However, I felt there is a need to communicate to you directly thro’ this blog for the following reasons (A) I observed -you intend to listen (B) There is an urgent medical need in SL that is not going to them in time despite so many competent hands available in the diaspora.(C) I have been observing such ranting and wailing communications in this blog earlier. Pls excuse me for my insensitive language, if you think so.

I have been observing the SL issue for quite some time- roughly 2 decades. It is only a news for me. But for you all, it is pain, history lived thro’ freightening moments and losses. So, I empathize with you. With this empathy, if I point out an error in your communication, would you refuse to accept?
It may appear to you, I am behaving like a child. Sometimes, children are needed to make you laugh, as it may open some of the closed doors in the minds of elders!

So, with your permission, let me modify your posting # 243 like this:

QUOTE:

From : Aiya
To : All Sinhalese/Tamil Doctors in the Diaspora of Srilankan community!

1.	You all aware that there is a tremendous shortage of medical personnel in entire SL .

2.	The people in SL still recall the exemplary service many of you, Doctors in the Diaspora rendered at the time of Tsunami.

3.	What the country now faces is Tsunami of different type! It gives us a great opportunity to correct our mistakes and bring healing to the wounded body and minds. Indian Doctors under the charity mission of actor Asin are doing exemplary service. The Doctors in the Diaspora who are equally competent can do similar service in SL.

4.	I can understand many of you Doctors do have personal priorities. However, this is the right time to leave our differences and help ALL our own kith and kin in SL. You may spare a fortnight or month or a year in SL. Instead of all of you going at a time, your service visit to SL can be staggered in such a manner that all do get an opportunity to serve the people.

5.	The logistics like visa formalities, your family’s stay can be discussed as this cannot be a great hindrance if we intend to serve our people

UNQUOTE

Dear Sir, Aiya

I hope you would have seen the difference in communication. You can never change people with extreme views. If so, your VP would have changed long time ago! There are many fence sitters who are really conscientious but circumstances might have forced them to stay with extremists. Address them without any bias whether he is Tamil or Sinhalese with a focus to serve both the communities. Extremists will automatically get eliminated.I find both the communities are equally damaged and you also agree with me.

Please stop ranting, wailing and weeping. I am sorry for the rough language. You see, children do not know any diplomacy. I am a child refusing to grow up!

Ravi Gee
P,S - If you think, I crossed my limits, please excuse me. I will request DBSJ to delete my comment, if you/he so desires.

Dear Sir.Aiya

From your name, I assume you are an elderly senior citizen from SL living somewhere in the world. I am from Tamil Nadu living somewhere in India.

Kindly do not mistake me that I am interfering in your communication. I understand in this blog-world there is abundant freedom (and space) available to express our feelings – within boundaries of parliamentary language I am a new comer to this blog though I have been visiting here for the past few months.

P,S – If you think, I crossed my limits, please excuse me. I will request DBSJ to delete my comment, if you/he so desires.
