Lasantha was the last journalist with a back bone in this country. Victor Ivan comes a close second. After these gentlemen nothing will stop monarchists from taking over

Lasanatha was taken to Island by late Mr Upali Wijewardene. Upali saw something in Lasantha. Mr Yapa was with Upali Newspapers that time (The Island). Lasantha was interviewed by Dr DS Bandarage then Upali's personal department director. Mr Yapa told Dr Bandarage about Lasantha. Dr Bandarage was Upali W's adviser and he told Upali to tak Lasanatha to the Island. This led to the successful career of the journalist, Lasantha. All this happenned in the early 80s.

DBS and Friends of the deceased must remember him with gratitude for the love and kindness shown to them this is all that one can leave behind as one's greatest achivement.There are many others who will have differerent views about the person.It is a despicable act to disparage the dead for they cannot defend themselves.Let us hope and wish that L/W would not meet with such an untimely and gruesome end ever and that he may find love in his soul to forgive his killers and end the cycle of hatred.Time runs out in our hands but not in the hands of the maker;
"Time is endless in thy hands,my lord.There is none to count thy minutes.
Days and nights pass and ages bloom and fade like flowers.Thou knowest how to wait.
We have no time to lose,and having no time we must scramble for our chances.We are too poor to be late.
And thus it is that time goes by while I give it to every querulous man who claims it,and thine altar is empty of all offerings to the last.
At the end of the day I hasten in fear lest thy gate be shut;but I find that yet there is time."("Gitanjali"-Sri Rabindranath Tagore")

glad voices are yet bold.

justice will be levered at the time of judgment day?

until then persue the truth ,men & women with a conscioence for justice.

this is not the begining of silencing men with a pen who dared to cross the limits and it will not be the ned either.

The arrow/archer metaphor was nice. I'm glad to see that you're writing here again.

What do you make of the protests being held around the world? Are they effective?
